Using Lemon Juice

Failure to regularly clean your coffee pot could result in the accumulation of old coffee. The stain could develop on the sides or bottom of the coffee pot. For stains that are not that serious, rinsing it with water could do the trick. If this does not work anymore, washing with lemon juice can break down this stain.

You can use fresh juice from a squeezed lemon or you can just buy lemon juice in a bottle. Combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Then pour it into the coffee pot’s reservoir. Leave it there for 15-20 minutes then run the machine.

 Using Vinegar

Among the best and most popular coffee pot cleaners is vinegar. It could easily get rid of an unwanted stain or solid buildup in the reservoir and filters. To do so, run the machine with a few cups of vinegar poured in it.

This solution also works best with hot water. The mixture could be 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 hot water.

After the hard deposits are removed, it is necessary to clean the machine with soap and water. The use of vinegar creates a strong acrid odor. Wipeout extra water with dry clothing then run another water cycle through the coffee maker.

To prevent solid coffee buildup, it is suggested to do this cleaning method every month. The cleaning might be troublesome due to the odor of the vinegar, but you could be sure that stains will be removed.

Using Ice cubes and Table Salt

This solution is best when cleaning a glass coffee pot. The combination will break down any solid buildup.

You need to mix ice cubes with table salt. First, you have to place a layer of table salt at the coffee pot.  Then you need to add the ice cubes. Carefully swirl the coffee maker to mix the salt and ice cubes. The melting of the ice due to the salt will cause an abrasive action. And this will effectively remove the coffee stain in the container.

Make your Carafe Sparkle Again

With constant use, your carafe would start to look dingy. To fix this, you need a little rice and warm, sudsy water.  Place this mixture inside the carafe and swirl it. The swirling action inside could help loosen any gunk. After cleaning, remove the rice debris using a sponge. Then rinse well with water. You now have a sparkling carafe ready for your next coffee time.

Regularly Clean Coffee Pot

It is important to remember that coffee beans contain oil. So when your coffee pot is left uncleaned for a long period, it accumulates. This could also lead to the buildup of coffee stains. This does not only look good, but it also affects the taste of your morning coffee.

After every use, you need to clean the coffee pot with soap and hot water. If you need to scrub the inside, you could just use any bottle brush you have at home. Do not only clean the inside, but you also have to wipe the exterior of the coffee maker.

Don’t let your crappy coffee pot ruin your day. And don’t ever spend a significant amount of money on replacements.
